Nirmay make manometers are 'U' shaped tubes, half filled with suitable liquid (Water / Mercury / Coloured Liquid). When both the tubes are open, the liquid is at the same level (Zero) in each leg. When positive pressure is applied to one leg, the liquid is forced down in that leg and up in the other. The difference in height, which is the sum of the reading above and below zero, tells you the pressure. A manometer forms a very essential part in the measurement of differential pressure with a high accuracy and resolution of measurement.
Glass Tube Manometer :
Glass Tube manometer consists of two glass limbs. It is provided with Aluminum fittings mounted on a metallic frame provided with white acrylic scale with a '0' (zero) marking at the center. The manometers are protected by a transparent cover fixed with the help of metallic frame. An external '0' adjustment knob is provided.
